How do Pitched Roof Joists Work?

Metal web joists can span much greater distances than solid timber. When solid wood simply won’t work, our metal web joist system can be your saviour.

The versatile characteristics of metal web joists in combination with our design team’s ability to manipulate the ends of the joists within our design software, allow a variety of options not achievable with other products.

Using industry leading bespoke software to design our metal web joists our designers can design each joist uniquely to fit your needs. This process is in direct contrast to other products which are sold off the shelf and cut to length on site. Due to each joist being uniquely designed, we can manipulate the end of each joist to connect flush to the wall, even though the joist is pitched rather than flat. Once again saving on-site labour time and money.

Likewise, where pitched roof joists meet steel beams or other joists, there can be specific detailing so that the joists fit together, rather like a jigsaw puzzle.

Our comprehensive installation guides and 3D software allow us to provide a user-friendly drawing pack to ease any concerns you may have if this is your first time using the product. Our designers are at the end of the phone if you’re not sure and need further clarification through the installation process.
